Presidential Early Career Award announced
Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers Given to Dr. Matthew Bush
Matthew Bush MD, PhD, MBA, Chair of the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Kentucky, was awarded the Presidential Early Career Award. This award was established in 1996 and is the highest honor bestowed by the U.S. government on outstanding scientists and engineers early in their careers.
In addition to being the Chair of the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Kentucky, Dr. Bush holds the University of Kentucky College of Medicine Endowed Chair in Rural Health Policy. His research is focused on hearing healthcare disparities. He serves as the PI of several National Institutes of Health-funded community-based trials to address hearing healthcare access and utilization among underserved populations.
Dr. Bush serves on the Board of Directors of the American Cochlear Implant Alliance. He is currently the Treasurer of the Board and was the CI2022 DC conference Program Committee Co-Chair. Dr. Bush’s expertise on hearing healthcare disparities and access has aided the ACI Alliance efforts in this area
