DESCRIPTION:An opportunity for those considering a cochlear implant for their child to learn more about life from a young person’s perspective. Hosted by Freya, who is a bi-lateral cochlear implant user and her mother Lynn.\n\nFreya failed the newborn hearing screening test and attended her local audiology department for further testing at the age of 6 weeks. She was fitted with a hearing aid at 14 months old and at the age of 2, Freya received her cochlear implants and currently uses two SONNET 2 on-the-ear audio processors. During this webinar Freya will discuss her hearing journey, everyday life with cochlear implants, challenges she has faced along the way and her achievements to date.\n\nThose considering a cochlear implant for their child, as well as young adults themselves are invited on Saturday 14th September 2024 11:00am – 11:45am, which will also include a Q&A session, where attendees will be able to ask any questions to Freya, Lynn, or a clinical specialist.\n\n
